Posted 03.03.08 – Parent Teacher Conferences: Tuesday (12:30-3:30/5:30-8:30) & Wednesday (5:30-8:30pm)
Mrs. Flynn will be at all CMS conferences (band room #48); Mr. Flynn will be at CHS in the gym.

Posted 12.26.07 – CMS Concert Success Story! I think we have turned the corner at CMS with regards to the band program….it has taken an immense amount of our time this fall but it was well worth the investment. Over 80 CMS parent teacher conference contacts was definitely a record! We had 128 6th grade students (Mrs. Flynn conducting) present their first Concert on Monday. December 3 in front of an audience of close to 600! We also had the 64 member7th & 55 member 8th grade bands perform on the following Tuesday with an audience of 500…. and both bands were absolutely outstanding! We have a renewed excitement and buzz in the program that we haven’t seen in a long, long, long time. This is just the beginning!

Posted 11.26.07 – Overview: I am thrilled to return as the director of the Eighth Grade Varsity & 7th Grade Concert Band….. and we finally have Mrs. Flynn as our Assistant director! I am also assisting with both hours of our 130 member 6th grade band this year.

7th Concert Band- 2007 Open House
Posted 09.25.07 – Overview: I am thrilled to be the director of the 60-member 7th Grade Concert Band! The band meets as a full ensemble daily during 2nd hour and we finally have Mrs. Flynn as our unofficial Assistant director! I also will be directing the 8th Grade Concert Band during 7th hour, and assisting with both hours of our 130 member 6th grade band this year.

The band meets as a full ensemble daily during 2nd hour and we finally have Mrs. Flynn as our unofficial Assistant director! Posted 12.18.06 – What a great week of Concerts here at Portage Central High School. We had a phenomenal 6th
grade Concert on December 4, our fantastic Concert on the 5th and our huge High School Collage on Thursday,
December 7…..whew, what a week!

7th Grade Band­ November 2006 Newsletter
Posted 11.12.06 – I am trying something we started last year……an email newsletter to better communicate with
families. Our website has finished some major renovations and includes icons for all the CMS bands, but a direct email
seemed very popular with parents last year. I hope this helps in keeping the lines of communication open!

meets as a full ensemble daily during 3rd hour. We hoped to have two teachers with your kids (Woodwinds & Brass/
Percussion) but it wasn’t approved by CMS.
